Before the emergence of Dr Chidi Lloyd as the chairman of Emohua LGA in 2021, the local government council had no chapel and the council’s marriage registry managed a small room attached to the formerly dilapidated council hall.
This development had resulted in having couples from Emohua LGA, including staff of the council travel to neighboring Obio-Akpor council and PortHarcourt city council for their marriage registrations.
Today, Emohua local government council parades the best chapel and marriage registry across the 23 LGAs in Rivers State conceptualized, executed and completed within one year of the administration of Dr. Chidi Lloyd.
While the new marriage registry continued to generate revenue for the local government, as couples from far and near now visit the council headquarters to formalize their marriages, the new council chapel currently serves as a temporary plenary hall for members of the local government legislative assembly, following the ongoing reconstruction and remodelling of the legislative assembly complex by the administration of Dr Chidi Lloyd.
